Moldova’s Government approved a new Public Procurement Draft Law on 12 November 2025, marking a significant step toward aligning national legislation with EU Directive 2014/24/EU. The reform strengthens transparency, clarifies procurement rules, introduces joint procedures with EU authorities, and sets the law’s entry into force for 1 January 2027, pending upgrades to the MTender system.

The draft law published by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection transposes into national law Directive (EU) 2022/2381 on gender balance in the boards of listed companies. The initiative aims to strengthen the representation of women in the management bodies of publicly listed companies and to promote equal opportunities through concrete measures and clear adaptation timelines for the corporate sector in the Republic of Moldova.
